New York City Cruise Port Guide: Manhattan Cruise Terminal Hotel

The Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York City
is the starting point for over 150 cruises per year. The terminal is located along 12th Avenue,
and cruise ships typically dock at the piers between West 47th Street — near the Intrepid
Sea, Air, & Space Museum — and West 52nd St. If you need a place to stay in New York City
before or after your cruise, and want a reasonably priced hotel close to the Manhattan Cruise
Terminal, you might want to check out the Comfort Inn Midtown West. The hotel is located just a quarter of a mile — or
a 5-minute walk — from where the cruise ships dock. You can actually see one of the piers — Pier
88 — at the end of the road from the hotel! Both times we’ve stayed at the Comfort Inn,
we were able to get a decent rate compared to other nearby properties. For our most recent cruise out of New York
City, we booked a King Room for the night before our embarkation. While the room included a comfortable king-sized
bed, there wasn’t much room for anything else, which was perfect for preparing us for
our cruise cabin. A small desk was available, as was a single-cup coffee maker, an open closet-like space for hanging some
clothes, a flat-screen TV, a luggage bench, and an iron and ironing board. Much like a cruise ship, the bathroom had
just enough room for a shower, toilet, sink, and a small hairdryer on the wall. In the morning, the hotel provides a complimentary
breakfast that features eggs, sausage, and fruit, cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels, bread, and pastries, two waffle makers, yogurt, and juice. Although seating is provided, it was a bit
difficult to find any available during peak breakfast times. The hotel offers coffee, hot water, flavored water, and a business center — with a single computer
and printer — 24 hours a day. After enjoying our overnight stay, we ate
some breakfast in the morning, then grabbed our luggage and walked the block and a half
to board our cruise ship!

  1. Looks like a great hotel for those flying in to Manhattan to embark on their cruise. Thank you.

  2. Thank you for your videos. We got married on the Carnival Horizon on June of 2018 at the NY Port since we're from NY 🗽 We watched your video on Grand Turk, one of the ports which Horizon was stopping at. Your video was very helpful. Also your videos are not just very informative, but professional. Please continue the great work 🙂🏝️ Sorry you had to stay in that small room, good thing it was near the port.

  3. Could you tell me how far in advance you booked your room? Also what you paid? We are catching a cruise on Sept. 24th and right now the price is 297.00 a night. Wondering if it might get cheaper as we get a little closer. Thanks you for the video…It was very helpful.
